Potato Cod Cakes Recipe with Dijon Tartar Sauce
Who loves crab cakes? I am a huge fan over here! Well, how about changing it up and turning the crab into potato cod cakes. It is much more cost-effective and as tasty.
Living in the country and having a hard time getting my hands on fresh fish is seemingly tricky, so I have adapted this recipe for what I can find. I can get my hands on breaded frozen cod fillets that work just as well. The breading also has seasonings in it that make these fried cakes delicious.
I also make my homemade tartar sauce. Using my home-canned ingredients makes this recipe perfect. You can find my sweet cucumber relish and Dijon mustard recipes to help make your amazing one of a kind tartar sauce.
Cost to make this recipe.
As far as main entrees go, these potato and cod fish cakes are quite inexpensive. I have calculated this recipe to be around $8.33, which makes about 12 cakes. If everyone had two patties, then this recipe can serve six and cost $1.39 per cake. Adding along with some homegrown vegetables, this recipe can feed the entire family for less than $2.00 per person.
