Strawberry Almond Tart Recipe
I had been dying to make a tart for awhile. And this strawberry almond tart recipe was my perfect starter tart. My brother and his wife gifted me a Wilton 9-in Nonstick Round Tart Pan as a Christmas gift. The pan is easy to use and what is also great, the bottom drops out for easy removal of the tart.
But now, back to this amazing tart. It is perfectly light and refreshing for a dessert or even for as a sweet breakfast treat. You start with a graham cracker crust then spread a slightly sweet cream cheese spread then topped with a strawberry glaze. Finally, sprinkle on some sliced almond around the edge.

I have calculated this tart to cost about $8.93 or $1.12 per serving slice. The majority cost of ingredients comes from the cream cheese and the strawberries.
As that I have not been able to make my cream cheese or graham crackers, I do grow my own strawberries. My homesteader cost comes to roughly $5.93 or $0.74 per serving slice.

Strawberry Almond Tart
Ingredients
Crust
- 1 package honey graham crackers, about 9 sheets…[$1.50]
- 3 Tbsp white granulated sugar, …[$0.06]
- 3 Tbsp butter, melted…[$0.38]
- 3 Tbsp water, …[$0]
- 1 Tbsp shortening, …[$0.01]
Filling
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened…[$2.00]
- ¼ cup white granulated sugar, …[$0.07]
- ½ tsp almond extract, …[$0.26]
- ½ Tbsp half and half, …[$0.02]
Topping
- 3 cups fresh strawberries, sliced and divided…[$3.00]
- ⅓ cup white granulated sugar, …[$0.10]
- ½ Tbsp cornstarch, …[$0.01]
- ½ Tbsp lemon juice, …[$0.02]
- ¼ cup sliced almonds, …[$1.50]
Instructions
Crust
- Preheat oven to 350 °F. Pulse graham crackers and sugar in a food processor and process until fine crumbles are reached. Add melted butter and water to crumbs. Mix until mixture is moist.
- Coat a 9 inch tart pan with a removable bottom piece with shortening. Press the graham cracker crust mixture in and around the greased tart pan. Baked crust for 10 minutes or until golden brown.
- If the crust falls off the edges, press crust gently up the sides while the crust is still warm. Let crust cool completely.
Filling
- Whip together softened cream cheese, sugar, extract and half and half. Spread mixture to the bottom of cooled graham cracker crust.
Strawberry Topping
- Place 1 cup sliced strawberries in a food processor along with sugar and cornstarch. Blend together until smooth. Place in a small pot and bring to a boil and cook until thickened. Take off heat and set aside until mixture cools.
- Layer the remaining 1 cup of strawberries on top of the cream cheese filling on the tart. Finally spoon cooled strawberry glazed over the top of strawberries as a final part of the tart.
- Sprinkle sliced almonds around edged of tart. Cover and chill tart for 3-4 hours.
