Strawberry Pineapple Salsa Recipe over Grilled Chicken
Our household loves its salsa. I am particular to sweet and cold fruit salsas like this strawberry pineapple salsa. They give the main dinner of chicken or pork a kick of difference. I personally love this salsa on top of a chicken salad. It has a sweet taste from the fruit and also a spice from the jalapenos. Along with a seasoned chicken breast underneath, this is an excellent recipe.

This recipe makes a lot of food for a little price. At $1.91 per serving, you can feed a good amount of people for little cost and in a healthy and tasty way.
Cost reduction can happen for you if you grow your strawberries and veggies as we do. Our homestead cost comes to roughly $10.61 for the entire meal or about $1.33 per serving. You can also cut each chicken breast in half to reduce the size and cost of the meat portion of this recipe. Doing that would make the recipe cost about $6.61 or about $0.83 per serving.

Strawberry Pineapple Salsa
Ingredients
Salsa
- 2 pints (40 oz) pineapple chunks, …[$2.96]
- ½ pound strawberries, quartered…[$2.00]
- ½ small onion, chopped…[$0.25]
- 1 tbsp. jalapenos, chopped…[$0.16]
- ½ tbsp. lemon or lime juice, …[$0.02]
Grilled Chicken
- 8 chicken breasts, pounded…[$8.00]
- 1 tbsp salt, …[$0.21]
- 1 tbsp onion powder, …[$0.18]
- ½ tbsp black pepper, …[$1.38]
- ½ tbsp. garlic powder, …[$0.08]
Instructions
Salsa
- Chop up all vegetables and fruit and place in a small to medium size bowl. Toss with lemon or lime juice, cover bowl and keep in refrigerator for at least one hour or until needed.
Grilled Chicken
- Season pounded chicken breasts with salt, pepper, garlic, and onion powders.
- Grill chicken until done and no longer pink in the middle. Slice up and serve with chilled salsa. Can also serve over a bed of lettuce to make a chicken salad.
