Tiramisu Pound Cake Recipe
I adore Tiramisu dessert. When we go out to a good Italian restaurant, I make sure I save room to share a huge cake slice. The family loves it just as much as me but they also love my pound cakes so I put the two best desserts together into one, Tiramisu pound cake.
Tiramisu pound cake is a buttery pound cake made with Kahlua and espresso batter layers. If you don’t have espresso, then you can make a strong cup of coffee. Sometimes, in a pinch, I like to use my coffee extract, which is a strong extract made from coffee beans. I love this coffee extract in many coffee or mocha recipes. I have actually used this extract in a dinner recipe, coffee-cream soda sauce over grilled chicken or roast beef with coffee mushroom gravy.
Cost of recipe
I calculated the cost of this pound cake to be around $13.39 or $0.74 per serving slice, including frosting.
As a homesteader, I don’t have too many tricks to lower this cost since I don’t make my cheese or mill my flour from scratch. But what I make is vanilla extract and coffee extract, also raise my eggs, which all help.

Mascarpone Frosting

- Keep cake in the refrigerator because the cheese frosting will go bad if not.
- Tip: Double frosting recipe if you like a thick coat of frosting.
