In a large bowl mix together all dry ingredients. Whip in the eggs and milk until a smooth mixture is reached. Cover and put into refrigerator or just set aside. You can make the batter the night before if you wish.
In a small sauce pot, put all cranberry syrup ingredients together. Bring pot to a boil and then reduce to a low heat immediately. Stir often and let simmer for 30 minutes.
While syrup is reducing heat up your waffle iron and spray with non-stick cooking spray. Pour waffle mixture into iron as is appropriate for your iron and cook each until done.
