Belgium Buttermilk Waffles Recipe
My kids love waffles. First those beautiful little waffle wells all over make just the perfect little cups for the kids to fill everyone up with syrup. I takes about two minutes for them to pour syrup on their stack because they need to fill every well up to the tippy top so perfectly you can mark it as a work of art when they are completed. Secondly, the kids like to be able to pull apart the waffle circle into quarters like a jigsaw puzzle; typically before the heaping amount of maple syrup that they love to put on.
I am not sure about all waffle irons but mine is a simple one waffle cooker that doesn’t rotate or anything else that is fancy. I can control my heat levels and it tells me when the iron is hot and ready to use with a green light. For mine, I turn the heat to the hottest setting and let it cook for about 2-3 minutes or until they are golden brown. The browner the waffle the crispier the outside of the waffle is but sometimes I like a softer waffle that is like the picture above.
As a tip from me to you, I place my waffle iron on top of a kitchen towel. This helps catch all the oopsy spillage that sometimes happens when I place too much batter in the iron.
