Honey Vanilla Pound Cake Recipe
This is an amazingly moist pound cake and has such an exciting flavor compared to my more traditional pound cakes. The majority of the sugar of this pound cake substituted with honey instead of white granulated sugar. Honey vanilla pound cake is a more healthy alternative.
The cake also has a large amount of vanilla extract, a tablespoon. I think next time I make this pound cake I will use vanilla beans and see if the taste will be any different. I wonder if the vanilla taste become more intense and richer in flavor.
Cost to make this recipe.
I calculated this recipe to cost about $11.81 or $0.74 per serving size. A homesteader cost could be lowered by raising bees for your honey and chicken for the eggs. We don’t have honey but we do have eggs. The cost could be lowered closer to $3.50 for an entire cake or $0.22 per serving slice.
