Malted Milk Waffles Recipe with Strawberry Chocolate Compote
Don’t tell the kids. We are planning on taking the first family Spring Break vacation to Disney World. This is scheduled for April 2020. [UPDATE: Covid canceled those plans for April 2020] Of course, that trip comes with a ton of planning. After looking up hotels, I researched the restaurants and made all my reservations for the week. That research included looking at all the menus. Let me tell you, Disney has some amazing items on their menus. Too many to eat in one week, so I made a few at home. You can find some really great copycat Disney recipes on the All Ears Disney blog.
Waffles are always a hit with the kids, and these were no exception. The extra malted milk flavor makes them truly special. It adds a subtle, nostalgic sweetness to elevate the ordinary waffle to something memorable. They’re wonderfully versatile. You can pair them beautifully with any pancake or waffle topping you enjoy. Try fresh berries, syrup, whipped cream, or even a dollop of ice cream for an indulgent treat. Each bite is crisp on the outside and tender and fluffy on the inside. This texture makes them a delightful breakfast, brunch, or even dessert. They keep everyone coming back for more.
Cost to make the recipe
The cost to make my malted milk waffle is about $6.22 for the batch or $1.04 per Belgium-style waffle. This also includes the fresh strawberry compote and chocolate drizzle.
To save some money, I like to use my home canned strawberry chocolate sauce. It also can save time as well.
