Maple Mustard Sauce Over Pecan Crusted Chicken Breast Recipe
I have become a lover of “pecan crusted anything” lately. But I have noticed eating it plain is good but just not good enough. Adding a sauce definitely gives the chicken an added dimension of flavor. The maple and mustard is not only great on the chicken but an amazing flavor combo in general. It has become a family favorite, especially with the kiddos. This recipe has actually been requested for the chicken nugget lunch meal a few days ago.

Pecan Crusted Chicken with Maple Mustard Sauce
Ingredients
Pecan Chicken Breast
- 4 large boneless chicken breasts, …[$4.00]
- 1 cup all purpose flour, …[$0.23]
- 1 cup pecans, chopped…[$3.24]
- 1 cup milk, …[$0.23]
- 2 large eggs, …[$0.46]
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Oil for frying
Maple Mustard Sauce
- 1 cup maple syrup, …[$4.54]
- ¼ cup Dijon mustard, …[$0.84]
- 2 Tbsp. mayonnaise, …[$0.12]
- 1½ tsp. white vinegar, …[$0.02]
Instructions
Prepare Chicken
- Preheat oven to 400 °F. Grease 13×9 casserole dish.
- Heat oil in pan for chicken breast on medium heat. Pound chicken breast and season with salt and pepper.
- Combine flour and chopped pecan in a dish. Whisk milk and eggs in a separate dish.
- Dip chicken breast in egg/milk mixture then into pecan flour mixture.
- Lightly fry each chicken breast in oil for about 2 minutes on each side and put into casserole dish.
- Bake uncovered chicken breast in oven for 30-40 minutes.
