Typically called cronuts, these puff pastry donuts are one of a kind dessert or breakfast treat that is topped with icing made with whipping cream and powdered sugar.
Pour about 1 inch of oil in any sized pot that makes it easy for you to drop and flip the donuts. Also keep the puff pastry in the refrigerator until you need it.
When the oil is heated up on medium then pull out only one puff pastry sheet. Lay it out and cut out donuts. Place cold cut donuts in hot oil and fry on each side until golden brown. It won't take long so don't walk away.
Lay fully fried donuts on a cooling rack with paper towels to remove the grease.
In a bowl whip together sugar, whipping cream, and extract. The icing should be a little thick so you may need to add little more cream or sugar.
Dip drained and cool donuts in to the icing bowl. Set on a wire rack and enjoy warm or even cooled off.
